12 3. OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS 3.1 Alarm Setting Procedure 3.1.1 Low Alarm Setting T o adjust the low alarm setting: 1) Press the LOCK/UNLOCK key to unlock the keypad. 2) Press the LOW SET key . The high alarm value cannot be set closer than 1% from the low alarm value due to ASTM specifications. APPLICA TIONS 8.1 Exposure to Anesthetic Gases Because of the unique chemistry of the oxygen sensors provided with the MAXO 2  Monitor , there are no significant effects when exposed to commonly used anesthetic gases, however , the monitor is not designed for exposure to flammable gas mixtures. Additionally , gas streams of high humidity may tend to condense on the sensor . Condensation on the sensor may eventually affect performance.
