Keep in mind that too little or too mu ch blade tension can cause blade breakage and/or poor cutting performance. 20 Miter Gauge A miter gauge is provided for crosscutting operations. Install the miter gauge by sli ding the end of the miter gauge ba r into the T-slot in the table, as shown in Figure 22. 22 Brake Pedal An alternate method of stopping the m achine is to press the brake p edal, shown in Figure 29. The band saw will shut off when the brake pedal is pressed.
