4 CHIMNEY REQUIREMENTS The chim ney shoul d ext end at least 3’ above a flat roof or the h ighest roof ri dge (see Fig. 2) and be free in a radius of 30’ of objects such as t ree limbs , other bu ildings, etc, which m ay cause a down draft. 8 ORIFICE INSTALLATION All burn ers are equipp ed with an orifice set at the mi nimum firing rate (ex cept for O EM packaged units ). Drilli ng the orifice i ncreases the firi ng rate.
